Winter Trail
Etiquette
* Pack out what you pack in. In other words, do not discard trash,
but instead pack it in your pocket and dispose of it at home.
* On the trail, it is the responsibility of every person to
maintain the trail in the best possible condition. Stay out of the
ski tracks if you are not on skis. Snowshoers or hikers should walk
outside of the ski tracks, closer to
the side of the trail.
* If a fast cross country skier yells out "track" to you, kindly
move aside and let them pass.
* Always stay in control, and be able to stop or avoid other people
or objects. People ahead of you have the right of way. It is your
responsibility to avoid them.
* You must not stop where you obstruct a trail, or are not visible
from above. Move to the side so others may easily pass.
* Whenever starting downhill or merging into a trail, look uphill
and yield to others.
* Communicate with your fellow outdoorspeople. If you're going to
pass someone, try yelling out "on your left" or "on your right" so
they know where you will pass.
* Observe all posted signs and warnings.
